The Consumer Code for Home Builders
The Consumer Code for Home Builders ('the code') which came into effect in April 2010, applies to all Home Builders registered with the UK’s main New Home Warranty Bodies i.e. the NHBC AND LABC Warranty.
What Is The Consumer Code?
The Code was developed by the home-building industry to ensure that all home buyers are treated in a fair and transparent manner.
The Code is designed to help home buyers understand:
What to expect with regards to service
Ensure you are fully informed about your purchase
What your consumer rights are both before and after you move in
Should a problem occur it also offers, under some circumstances (i.e. a breach of the Code), a free dispute resolution service
